ABT ASSOCIATES LATEST JOB VACANCIES IN UGANDA : RECRUITMENT FOR SENIOR TECHNICAL SPECIALISTS (CAREERS IN UGANDA 2011)

Abt Associates, an international development organization composed of a multi-disciplinary group of dedicated professionals who provide technical assistance, research, analysis, and practical training services in more than 128 countries, seeks candidates for an upcoming USAID-funded project in Uganda focused on expanding access to, utilization, and integration of HIV/ AIDS, TB and malaria prevention, treatment, care and support activities along with maternal, reproductive and child health programs in Northern Uganda. All positions would be in Gulu district. Please note, all positions are contingent on successful award of a proposal. _

Senior Technical Specialists
Abt Associates will also be recruiting Senior Technical Specialists with the following backgrounds:
• Maternal and Reproductive Health (including Long Term and Permanent Methods (LTPM), Emergency Obstetric Care (EBC), and Prevention of Post-Partum Hemorrhage (PPM))
• Child Health (including diarrhea, nutrition, malaria, and Acute Respiratory Infections (ARls))
• HlV/AlDS (including Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ARTs), counseling and testing, and palliative care)
• Tuberculosis (including Directly-Observed Treatment Short-Course (DOTS))
• Malaria Prevention and Control including Attemisinin Combination Therapy (ACTs), Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs), and Long-Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LLNs), and Intermittent Preventive Treatment In Pregnancy (iPTp)
• Integrated Health Services
• Clinical Training(both at district and community level)
• Quality Assurance
• Health Management Information Systems (HMIS)

Job requirement

Minimum Qualifications for Senior Technical Managers:
• MD or Master in Public Health (MPH)
• 8+ years of relevant work experience in the pertinent technical area, with a focus on expansion of access and use of services
• Capable of working with and providing technical guidance to a diverse group of health service delivery partners, and helping to refine their community health approaches
• Demonstrated understanding of key prevention, treatment and care approaches in H1V/AIOS, Malaria, TB, or other disease as relevant
• Demonstrated ability of developing innovative approaches for capacity building in the relevant technical area
• Experience working in northern Ugandan districts preferred
• English fluency required
